This piece examineS the growing epidemic, that plagues the land of the free, contributing to…decline of what the nation has for been trying to fix for years. It seems that the wrongful deaths of unarmed African-American men and women caused by the police is at an all-time high. What people haven't considered is that these tragic, and unnecessary events are a prime example of the hackneyed expression: "history repeats itself." The first public announcement of a black male being wrongfully murdered is none other than Emmett Till. The piece will explore the African-American male and female and their encounters with law enforcement and will hopefully cause the viewer to think and continue to hope for that day when "a change gonna come." I apologize for the quality. Will edit piece to make it work, but here's what I'll share here.Read More

The inspiration for this dance came from photos I came across while visiting the MOMA…New York City. The photos showed the human body in different distortions. I wanted to create a piece that showed the beauty of the human body even in ways one may be uncomfortable looking at. I created a piece of music using four different Jaime xx songs. I came across an obstacle when I felt my idea and the music did not go together, but decided to challenge myself in exploring how I could put both ideas together.Read More

This piece was actually conceived at the bar after one too many drinks. I sat…and observed my environment: passionate grown women, tipsy fellas arguing, and a drama-filled love triangle. After witnessing all these interesting stories unfold before my eyes, I asked myself, "what would happen if this entire bar was reenacted with LIVE music?" This is what took place that evening.Read More
