"Pressure Points" April 17, 2019 | hancamp716 | More on General
The piece is based off of that moment or that breaking point where you have…of these strong feelings about a situation or about someone, but are unable to speak your mind. Dancers often feel so much through their dancing and their performance quality, but don’t always get the chance to express it plainly in words. I instructed the guys to tap into a personal experience that they felt driven by so their emotion and delivery of the movement would be raw and real. In today’s society, people are often nervous to stand out or stand up for what they believe in for fear of others’ reaction. The hoods represent the dancers closing themselves off from society and the anxiety that they can feel from that. This piece revolves around the anger, frustration, and passion that could build up when wanting to speak your mind.Read More
