Kids Cafe Goes to College is a new twist on Dancewave’s popular annual Kids Cafe Festival, now in its 16th year. Kids Cafe Goes to College offers high school dancers an opportunity to get a first-hand look at professionally-based college dance programs through master classes, roundtable discussions with college department heads, and performances. This first Dance College Panel Roundtable at The Irondale Center in Brooklyn took place on Thursday, November 12, 2009. The discussion was moderated by Joan Finkelstein (Director of Dance Programs at the NYC Dept. of Education). It included panelists from Fordham University, Long Island University: Brooklyn Campus, Marymount Manhattan, New York University, Ohio State University, SUNY Purchase College and The Juilliard School.
