Gravity by Corey Campbell
I Choreographed "Gravity" in the Fall of 2009 at the University of Arizona. The cast is made of dancers from across the US. They are all dancers with the U of A dance Ensemble. The music is "Gravity" (live) by John Mayer.
With "Gravity", I wanted to make a dance that anyone can connect with. We all go through things in life that seem to weigh us down, like gravity. We ALL have a constant relationship with gravity. We can either give into gravity or we can work against gravity. In my piece, gravity represents that thing that is holding us back from what we want. There will always be obstacles when we are reaching for our dreams. We can let the obstacles pile up on top of us or soar over them.
