Ballet Pixelle "Archidance"
This ballet by Ballet Pixelle® is about the architecture of dance and its past, present, and future. The first act using Labanotation (graphic language for the reproduction of dance), the second pays homage to past contributors of dance, and the last act shows automaton dancers and real dancers and points to the future of dance. Choreography by Inarra Saarinen and music by Grammy award winner Kurt Bestor. Machinima (video) by Pia Klaar. Ballet Pixelle® is a ballet company that performs in virtual and physical realities. Our goal is to explore and extend physical and virtual dance and movement and to blend those realities. We present neo-classical, contemporary, and eclectic works with all original animations, choreography, and musical scores. The works are presented in real-time with virtual/digital dancers, musicians, physical dancers, and audiences from all over the world. The Company is in its sixth year and works in the global virtual community called Second Life®.
