#4 just so you know

3 of these ladies had never even taken a dance class before they walked into my studio space for rehearsals.. the remaining 6 are people that are my friends and adult students. Sometimes you need "non-dancers" to convey the right amount of honesty through movement. I love my dancers... they kill my choreography. Keep an eye out. "Black/White" is the next show and it debuts July 31st at The Firehouse Theatre Project in Richmond, VA! XF represeenting RVA, coming soon to NYC!

This is the opening piece from "The Disconnect." December 2007. Since my company's beginning... I have choreographed a "floor piece" for each show. I enjoy floor work more than most and I took the opportunity I made for myself to create pieces that were almost entirely on the ground. My dancers had some busted up knees and feet, but I don't think you can create the same effect while dancing upright on two feet... There is something undeniably moving about being so close to your first and last partner... the floor. Please enjoy this piece... Dolly Parton's rendition is amzing.
